Larry David: American Actor, Comedian, Producer, and Director
Larry David, born on July 2, 1947, is an American actor, comedian, producer, and director. He is best known as the co-creator and producer of two successful television comedy series, "Seinfeld" (1989-1998) and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (2000-present).

Early Life and Education
Larry David was born into an American Jewish family near Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Sheepshead Bay High School and later enrolled at the University of Maryland. In 1969, David earned a bachelor's degree in history and in 1970, he earned another bachelor's degree in business.

Career Beginnings
During his early career, Larry David worked as a stand-up comedian, wrote scripts for various television shows, and even took on odd jobs such as a store clerk, limousine driver, and television repairman to make ends meet. It was during this time that he lived near the filming location of "Hell's Kitchen" in Manhattan and met Kenny Kramer, who would later become the inspiration for the character Cosmo Kramer on "Seinfeld".

Seinfeld and Success
In 1989, Larry David teamed up with Jerry Seinfeld to co-create the sitcom "Seinfeld", in which he served as the head writer and executive producer. The show became a huge success and in 1993, David received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Curb Your Enthusiasm
In 1999, Larry David began working on another sitcom called "Curb Your Enthusiasm", an improvised show in which one of the characters shares traits with David himself. The series premiered on October 15, 2000, and has since gained a dedicated following. David's character on the show is known for his social awkwardness and misunderstandings, leading to the popularization of the phrase "Larry David moment" to describe an uncomfortable or awkward situation.

Personal Life
On March 31, 1993, Larry David married Laurie Lennard. The couple settled in Pacific Palisades, California, and had two daughters named Cazzie and Romy. Laurie, like Cheryl David in "Curb Your Enthusiasm", is actively involved in environmental causes. However, the couple divorced in July 2007 due to irreconcilable differences.
Awards and Recognition
Larry David's work in television has earned him numerous accolades. In 2003, he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy for his role in "Curb Your Enthusiasm". He was nominated for the same award in 2005 and 2006. In 2006, David was ranked 23rd on the list of the 50 Greatest Comedians by his fellow comedians. That same year, he also received an Emmy Award.
Despite criticism and controversies throughout his career, Larry David remains a highly regarded figure in the comedy industry.
