Lars Haugen: Norwegian Goaltending Star

Lars Haugen, a Norwegian ice hockey goaltender, began his professional journey in 2006 with Sparta Warriors of the Norwegian GET-Ligaen. Prior to that, he honed his skills with Loxsands in Sweden and Manglerud Star in Norway.

European Odyssey

In 2009, Haugen joined L'orenskog, where he remained until halfway through the 2010/11 season before returning to Manglerud on loan. Despite interest from multiple Swedish teams, he inked a two-year deal with Minsk Dinamo in Belarus in May 2011.

Breakthrough in Minsk

However, competition in Minsk proved fierce, with Haugen playing behind Andrei Mezin and Kevin Lalande. To gain playing time, he was loaned to Shakhtar Soligorsk in the Belarusian Extraleague. Despite injury setbacks, he made his KHL debut in 2012, helping Minsk defeat Dynamo Moscow.

National Pride

Internationally, Haugen represented Norway at the 2004 World Junior Championship, where they were relegated. The following year, he helped them regain elite status by winning the Division I tournament. He also participated in the 2006 World Junior Tournament and the 2011 World Championship, where Norway reached the quarterfinals and Haugen emerged as one of the tournament's top goalies.

Current Club: Färjestad

In 2015, Haugen signed with Färjestad of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He has since established himself as a key player for the team, showcasing his exceptional goaltending abilities on the international stage.
