Jonathan Mark LeRoux, better known by his ring name Lash LeRoux, was born on November 22, 1976, in Lafayette, Louisiana, USA. He attended Oxford High School, where he began his wrestling career while still a student. LeRoux also played for the school's football team, the Oxford High Yellow Jackets, and led them to victory in the Alabama State Football Championship in 1993.

After graduating from high school, LeRoux enrolled at Jacksonville University. During his college years, he aspired to become an animator and devoted considerable effort in that direction. However, in 1997, LeRoux became interested in an advertising offer from the "WCW Power Plant" wrestling school. He effortlessly gained admission and within a year was already performing in professional wrestling matches. LeRoux adopted several ring names throughout his career, including "Corporal Cajun," "The Ragin," and Lash LeRoux. His signature moves included the "Bourbon Street Blues," "Whiplash 2000," and "Raging Cajun."

In 2000, LeRoux joined the faction "The Misfits in Action," where he teamed up with wrestlers such as Lieutenant Loco, Major Stash, Major Gunns, and General Rection. They collectively defended the interests of their group. In 2001, LeRoux, Lieutenant Loco, and General Rection formed their own faction called "Team Canada."
