Lasha Nizharadze: A Russian Crime Boss
Lasha Nizharadze, also known as Lasha Tskhaltubski, is a Russian crime boss. In recent months, authorities have arrested a series of high-profile figures in the Russian criminal underworld, including Nizharadze.
Recent Arrests
Pavel 'Pasht' Alekseevich, Ruslan 'Lebed' Lebedev, Oleg 'Oleg Ashkhabadsky' Mikaelyan, and Lasha Nizharadze were all apprehended by police. The reasons behind the increased police activity remain unclear, but some believe it may be related to the high-profile murder of Aslan 'Ded Khasan' Usoyan.
Nizharadze's Involvement
Nizharadze was considered a key rival to Usoyan and his crime clan. His arrest is therefore seen as particularly significant. Nizharadze is currently facing two charges: possession of 17 grams of hashish and violating a restriction prohibiting him from leaving the city of Dmitrov at night.
Past Convictions and Lack of Compliance
Nizharadze has previously been convicted of drug possession, receiving a six-year prison sentence. Despite these convictions and the restrictions imposed on him, he has continued to move freely around the country and even traveled internationally. Police believe he attended a major criminal gathering in the United Arab Emirates.
Criminal Charges
Nizharadze is currently facing charges under Article 228 of the Russian Criminal Code, which prohibits the illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, and processing of narcotics.
The Assassination of Aslan Usoyan
Aslan Usoyan, known as Ded Khasan, was shot and killed on January 16. He and his bodyguards were fired upon outside a Moscow restaurant. Despite the quick response of his bodyguards, Usoyan was fatally wounded and died in the hospital. A female restaurant employee was also severely injured in the shooting and faces permanent disability.
