Early Life and Musical Roots

Vladyslav Karashchuk, known professionally as LAUD, was born on October 14, 1997, in Kiev, Ukraine, to a family of accomplished musicians. His father, Andrii Karashchuk, is a clarinettist, while his mother, Anzhelyka Karashchuk, is a renowned pianist and piano teacher. Both parents graduated from the prestigious R. M. Glier Kiev Institute of Music and the National Music Academy of Ukraine.

Musical Prodigy

Vladyslav, a descendant of a musical dynasty, displayed his talent from a young age. He participated in numerous competitions and festivals, including "Krok do zirok," "Black Sea Games," "Slavic Bazaar," "Children's New Wave" (Latvia), "New Wave" (Latvia), and Kaunas Jazz Festival (Lithuania). At the prestigious "New Wave" competition, he performed duets with renowned pop stars Ivan Dorn and Dima Bilan.

Rise to Fame on "The Voice"

In 2016, Vladyslav auditioned for the Ukrainian edition of "The Voice" and joined Ivan Dorn's team. His exceptional performances propelled him to the grand finale, where he finished as the runner-up.

LAUD: A New Chapter

After "The Voice," Vladyslav signed a contract with Jamala's producer, Igor Tarnapolsky, and adopted the stage name LAUD. His debut performance as LAUD was at Kiev's Sports Palace on May 12, 2017, opening for Jamala. His debut single, "U Tsu Nich," was released on May 26, 2017, and was followed by "Ne Zalyshai" (December 12, 2017) and "Vyhadav" (March 16, 2018).

Debut Album and Eurovision Ambitions

LAUD released his debut album, "Muzyka," in October 2018, featuring 12 original compositions. In February 2018, he represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Waiting," finishing first in the semi-finals. In 2019, he competed in the Eurovision National Selection once again with the song "2 Dni."

LAUD continues to captivate audiences with his unique blend of pop, soul, and R&B music. He has released several more singles and toured extensively, establishing himself as one of Ukraine's most promising young artists on the international stage.
