Early Life and Early Career

Laura Ashley Bell Bundy was born on April 10, 1981, in Lexington, Kentucky. From a young age, she studied dance in Paris, Kentucky. Her stage debut occurred when she was just nine years old.

After graduating from Lexington Catholic High School, Bundy pursued acting full-time.

Broadway Success

Bundy's Broadway debut came in 2002 with the production of "Hairspray," where she originated the role of Amber von Tussle. She went on to play Glinda in "Wicked" alongside Kristin Chenoweth and Jennifer Laura Thompson.

Bundy's Broadway career culminated in her portrayal of Elle Woods in "Legally Blonde." The role earned her her first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical. She later reprised the role in the all-American tour, which ran from January 2009 to February 2010.

Film and Television

Beyond her Broadway credits, Bundy has appeared in films such as "The Adventures of Huck Finn," "Life with Mikey," and "Jumanji." In 2006, she played a member of a fictional pop group in the film adaptation of "Dreamgirls."
