Rory Cochrane Biography
Rory Cochrane is an American actor born in Syracuse, New York, to an Irish father and an Indian immigrant mother. He grew up in Granchester, England, near Cambridge, and later returned to New York as a teenager. Cochrane attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan, where he began studying acting.

Early Career
While still a student, Cochrane had his first on-screen experience in a segment of the show "Saturday Night with Connie Chung" dedicated to drug abuse. He also played a small role in an episode of the short-lived ABC series "H.E.L.P.".

Breakthrough Roles
Cochrane made his feature film debut in 1991 in James Dearden's "A Kiss before Dying". A year later, he landed his first major role in "Fathers and Sons", playing the son of Jeff Goldblum's character. He gained further recognition for his role as the cool and logical Slater in Richard Linklater's cult film "Dazed and Confused", which also launched the careers of Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaughey.

Continued Success
In 1994, Cochrane portrayed a biker in "Love and a .45" and received critical acclaim for his performance. He also starred alongside Renée Zellweger in "Empire Records" in 1995 and appeared in George Hickenlooper's independent film "The Low Life" the same year. Cochrane also made notable television appearances in miniseries like "The Company" (2007) and joined the cast of the spy thriller "24" in 2009. Additionally, he had a role in the film "Public Enemies" (2009) alongside Johnny Depp, portraying the legendary American gangster John Dillinger.
