Club Career

Laurent Ciman, a Belgian defender, currently plays for Los Angeles FC and the Belgian national team. His football journey began in Belgium, where he initially joined Charleroi. In 2008, he switched to Brugge on a three-year contract but faced limited playing time, leading to a loan move to Kortrijk.

Standard Liège and MLS Success

In 2010, Ciman joined Standard Liège, signing a four-year contract. He enjoyed a successful spell in Liège, culminating in winning the Belgian Cup in 2011. In 2015, he crossed the Atlantic to join Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer (MLS).

Ciman's impact in MLS was immediate. In his debut season, he was named MLS Defender of the Year and earned a spot in the MLS Best XI. He also made his mark as an MLS All-Star in 2015 and 2016.

Los Angeles FC

In December 2017, Ciman was traded to expansion club Los Angeles FC in exchange for Raheem Edwards and Jukka Raitala. He has since established himself as a vital member of the LAFC defense.
