Lee Cherry's trip to Thailand took a dramatic turn when he fell from the balcony of his hotel room on the second day of his stay. While the cause of the fall remains a mystery to this day, what followed is a tale of medical marvels and resilience.

Falling From the Balcony

After falling 7 meters, Cherry lost consciousness and was discovered by hotel staff under the window. Rushed to the nearest clinic, he woke up several days later on a hospital bed, unaware of the true extent of his injuries.

A Suspicious Father and Strange Pillow Marks

After communicating with his father, who seemed unusually affectionate, Cherry suspected something amiss. Days later, he noticed strange lumps on his pillow, realizing that his head was partially exposed. Medical staff at Koh Samui hospital confirmed that he had suffered a severe head injury, requiring the removal of a quarter of his skull.

Carrying His Skull Back Home

Instead of a souvenir, Cherry returned to the UK with the removed bone fragments. Doctors instructed him to have a custom-molded prosthesis made to replace the lost skull portion. Currently, a section of Cherry's brain is protected solely by skin.

Health Concerns and Precautions

Despite the severity of his injury, Cherry's health is not immediately threatened, provided he follows certain safety precautions. Notably, he flew back to the UK under the supervision of a Thai doctor as an additional measure.
