Biography of Lee Cotter

Lee Cotter, a Swedish fashion designer, is the co-founder of the clothing brand 'Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair' along with his partner, Astrid Olsson. He is responsible for the production of the brand's men's collections. Despite not having any formal education in fashion design, Cotter launched his own label. He gained experience by working as a buyer and freelance designer for various brands specializing in men's clothing. In 2004, Lee Cotter and Astrid Olsson established the company 'Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair', borrowing the name from a well-known shoe repair shop in London. However, the creative duo focused entirely on clothing production. Initially, Cotter and Olsson experimented with knitwear, limiting themselves to the women's line. Over time, the 'Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair' brand grew into producing top-quality clothing for men as well. In 2006, Olsson and Cotter opened the first 'Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair' store in Stockholm. That same year, the brand held its first fashion show in the old Stockholm cinema, 'Röda Kvarn'. In January 2009, the company was named 'Designer of the Year' at the Swedish Elle Style Awards. In 2010, Cotter and Olsson opened their first store outside of Stockholm, in Singapore. Today, 'Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair' products are available in stores such as 'IT' in Hong Kong, 'Daily Projects' in South Korea, a supermarket in Amsterdam, and 'Opening Ceremony' in New York and Los Angeles. The brand is also proudly showcased in 'Selfridges' in London, 'Barney's' in the USA, and 'Galeries la Fayette' in Berlin. Lee Cotter continues to oversee the men's collections for the 'Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair' brand. He is also a co-owner and creative director of the new designer department, 'Awesome Rags', in the Swiss department store chain 'PUB'.
