Formation of the Band
Once, Valentin Chepenko and his friends were sitting at his place, strumming their guitars. Someone mentioned, "It's not bad, but it would be even better if we had a drummer!" And the guys got excited about the idea of forming a real band. In their hometown of Frankfurt, they found a Youth House where musicians practiced. The new band agreed on rehearsal times. Although they didn't have much skill yet, their enthusiasm was overflowing, and so they began. Yakov Mayzinger and Evgeny Shal had some experience - Yakov on drums and Evgeny on electric guitar. Valentin, naturally, became the vocalist. And thus, the band "REFLEX" came into existence. They used this name for two months, but it turned out that another band already existed with the same name, so they had to rename themselves. After much contemplation and various suggestions, they chose "LEGENDA" - a name that everyone liked.
Collaboration with CODA
The development of "LEGENDA" did not wait. Another band called "CODA" also lived in Frankfurt. These guys helped "LEGENDA" in their musical development - they always gave advice and brought them along to concerts. When "LEGENDA" started playing, they didn't have their own songs, so the guys played whatever came to mind. Well, maybe not everything that came to mind, as their skills were limited. But one beautiful day, Valentin brought a scrap of paper to rehearsal. It was his first song - "Zvezdy" ("Stars"). Everyone was very excited and surprised. However, they soon got used to the new songs because they started coming one after another!
Changes in Lineup
The original lineup of the band was as follows: Valentin Chepenko on rhythm guitar and vocals, Alexander Shtele on bass guitar, Evgeny Shal on lead guitar, and Yakov Mayzinger on drums. Since 1999, a lot of time has passed. The lineup of the band has changed very often, unfortunately. This led to much time being lost in the search for new members to join the band. But all these changes also brought something very good! The band welcomed lead guitarist Alexey Morozov. This guy's talent and his melodic playing style gave the band a fantastic sound.
New Lineup and Recording Debut Album
The lineup that lasted exactly one year, and from which no one expected any changes, finally broke up in the summer of 2000. Yakov (drums) and Evgeny (bass) left the band for reasons known only to them... But soon everything fell into place. The band welcomed "a good friend and an amazing bass guitarist," Artem Fink. The current lineup is as follows: Valentin Chepenko on rhythm guitar and vocals, Artem Fink on bass guitar, and Alexey Morozov on lead guitar. Currently, the band is working on recording their debut album. Its title is already known - "Kupol Mir" ("Dome of the World").
