Lena Headey: A British Actress with a Versatile Career
Early Life and CareerLena Headey was born on October 3, 1973, in Hamilton, Bermuda. Her father, John Headey, was a police officer from Yorkshire, England. Headey has a brother named Tim. As a child, she took ballet lessons until she was advised to stop. She briefly considered becoming a hairdresser.
Headey's first acting experience came when she attended Shelley College. She caught the eye of a casting agent at the age of 17 and landed a role in the 1992 film "Waterland." She later played Kitty Brydon in the 1994 film adaptation of "The Jungle Book," where she met and began a nine-year relationship with Jason Flemyng.
Breakthrough Roles
After appearing in several supporting roles, Headey portrayed the young Sally in the drama "Mrs. Dalloway" and earned a supporting role in the critically acclaimed "Onegin" alongside Ralph Fiennes and Liv Tyler. She received positive reviews for her performance in the 2000 drama "Aberdeen."
Hollywood Success
Headey's breakthrough role came in 2005 when she starred as Angelica, a witch hunter, in Terry Gilliam's fantasy-thriller "The Brothers Grimm." She also appeared in the horror films "The Cave" and "Imagine Me & You" that year.

Headey has gained immense popularity for her portrayal of Cersei Lannister, the ruthless queen of the Seven Kingdoms, in the HBO series "Game of Thrones." She has been nominated for three Emmys and one Golden Globe for her performance in the show.

Personal Life
Headey has been engaged to actor Johnny Cicco and dated Jason Flemyng from 1994 to 2003. She has a tattoo of his name in Thai on her arm, which she later removed.
In May 2007, Headey married musician Peter Paul Loughran. They had a son, Wylie Loughran, on March 31, 2010. Headey suffered from postpartum depression after his birth. The couple separated in 2011 and officially divorced on December 26, 2013.
Headey dated Jerome Flynn, her co-star in "Game of Thrones." The relationship reportedly ended badly, and they have been estranged since March 2014.
On July 10, 2015, Headey gave birth to her second child, a daughter named Teddy. The father is director Dan Cadan, a childhood friend whom Headey had previously cast in his 2008 short film "The Devil's Wedding." Headey and Cadan are reportedly planning to marry in summer 2018.
