Keylor Navas: Costa Rican Goalkeeper
Club CareerKeylor Navas is a Costa Rican footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Club Sport Herediano and the Costa Rica national team. Navas began his career at Herediano, making his senior debut in 2009. He quickly established himself as the team's first-choice goalkeeper, playing 32 matches in the following season.
Navas contributed to Herediano's successes by winning the Summer Championship (Verano) in 2012 and 2013. Notably, the 2013 title was clinched thanks to his decisive performance in a penalty shootout.
International Career
In 2007, Navas represented Costa Rica at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, making four appearances and conceding four goals. He went on to compete for Costa Rica's U-23 team in the qualifiers for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Navas was included in Costa Rica's squad for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup but did not play. He made his senior international debut in the first match of the 2011 Copa América against Colombia, starting all three of Costa Rica's group stage games.
