Early Life and Education
Leslie R. Bega, born in Los Angeles on April 17, 1967, spent much of her childhood in New York. She excelled in her studies, graduating with honors from the prestigious Los Angeles private French school Le Lycee Francais. Bega then pursued higher education at the University of Southern California, majoring in film and minoring in drama at Lesley College.
Acting Career
Bega made her stage debut at the tender age of six, appearing in the Broadway production of "Patriots." She went on to secure lead roles in numerous television commercials before transitioning to episodic roles in films. Bega honed her acting skills throughout her childhood, laying a solid foundation for her future career.
In the late 1980s, Bega landed a starring role in the long-running and popular ABC sitcom "Head of the Class" as the bright but shy Maria Borges. She followed this with another ABC series, "C-16 FBI," alongside Eric Roberts, Angie Harmon, and D.B. Sweeney.
Bega's film career took off quickly, eventually working with Hollywood stars such as John Travolta, Michael Douglas, Annette Bening, and Anthony Quinn. She has starred in over fifteen films, including David Lynch's "Lost Highway," Barry Sonnenfeld's "Get Shorty," and Rob Reiner's "The American President."
Other Endeavors
After nineteen years of vocal training, Bega performed a solo singing show at the Lincoln Center in 2001. More recently, she completed work on "Women At Risk" and "Outreach," educational programs for inner-city children. Bega is also an accomplished chef known for her vegan cooking.
