Birth and Family Life

Lev Pilshchik was born on October 26, 1944, in Kuibyshev (now Samara), Russia. In 1945, his family returned to Riga from evacuation, where he spent his childhood exhibiting exceptional singing abilities.

Early Career

At the age of 14, Pilshchik began performing in Riga's restaurants. Three years later, he became a soloist with the Lithuanian State Orchestra. He briefly joined the legendary group "Singing Guitars" before moving to Moscow in the late 1960s.

Performing in Moscow

In Moscow, Pilshchik worked with Eddie Rosner's orchestra for three years. He then performed with the ensemble "Electron" in Tula before joining Yuri Malikov's "Samotsvety" in the early 1970s.

Immigration to Israel and International Success

In 1972, Pilshchik emigrated to Israel. He quickly established himself, working with Israel's top impresarios and performing in concerts alongside Israeli stars. In 1974, he won first prize at the Hasidic Song Festival, leading to a two-month tour of Canada and the United States.

Life in the United States

During his time in America, Pilshchik met and married his wife in 1974. He performed in numerous New York nightclubs and restaurants, as well as on tours throughout the US and abroad. In 1978, he recorded the album "When a Woman Leaves," which included original versions of songs by Sergey Yesenin and other lyrical and Odessa melodies (the original album is unfortunately lost).

Legendary Status in New York

For the past nine years, Pilshchik has been performing in New York's "Orion Palace" and "Atlantic Grill," one of Brighton Beach's finest and most expensive restaurants. His repertoire spans multiple languages, but his voice is particularly captivating in Russian songs.
