She then applied to the University of Culture and Arts, from which she graduated in 1992.

Early Career and Personal Life

In 1989, Aygun joined the popular group "Gala" (Tower) as a soloist. However, after getting married and having a daughter named Ilgara, she left the group in 1991. In 1993, Aygun's mother passed away, and a few months later, she divorced her husband. In late 1994, she returned to the stage as a professional singer, performing songs by Javanshir Guliyev and Vagif Gerayzade.

Success in Music

Aygun Kazimova is considered one of the most prominent singers in the history of Azerbaijani pop music. She has achieved great success with numerous singles, successful albums, and music videos. Her career started in 1988 when she won the music festival "Baku Autumn-88." She then participated in the competitions Jurmala 1989 and Asia Dausu 1992. In 1996, Aygun became a laureate of the International Competition in Istanbul.

In the mid-1997, Aygun released her first solo album, "Sevgi Gulleri," which featured songs by popular composer Vagif Gerayzade. In 1998-1999, she released several successful singles such as "Qoy itirdim senden," "Avarasan," "Bir payiz gecesi," "Vokaliz," "Tanha Qadin," "Devushka Vostochnaya," establishing herself as a successful Azerbaijani singer.

In 2000, Aygun Kazimova received three "Grand" awards: for her concert "Ayg?n Bir g?n" at the Heydar Aliyev Palace, for her hit song "Gec?l?r," and as the "Best Female Singer of the Year." In the same year, she released the successful album "AYGUN" and performed a two-day concert program at the Heydar Aliyev Palace.

In 2001, Aygun received three "Grand" awards in the same categories as in 2000. Additionally, she released another successful album, "Sevdim," in September 2001. Several music videos were made for songs from this album, which were successfully broadcasted on Azerbaijani and Turkish television. In the same year, Aygun participated in the "Best Model 2001" contest in Northern Cyprus.

Aygun Kazimova has also performed internationally and represented Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2012. Her most successful international performance was a concert at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow in January 2006, as part of the Azerbaijan Year in Russia. On June 20, 2007, she gave a solo concert at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium in Baku to celebrate her 20 years in the music industry.

Aside from her stage performances, Aygun Kazimova also holds charity concerts in orphanages throughout Azerbaijan. In 2004, after a three-year hiatus, she released another successful album, "Son Soz" (The Last Word). In 2005, Aygun played the lead role in the musical "Xari bulbullar" directed by Arif Kaziev. She also tried her hand at hosting TV shows, but her projects were not very successful. In the same year, she released the album "Seversenmi" (If You Love), which had moderate success due to the absence of hit singles. The only successful song from the album was "Mektub" (Letter). Subsequent singles also had moderate success, and Aygun's popularity declined. However, in November 2006, she released the successful single "Opsen" (You Will Kiss), which brought back her previous popularity. Another success followed with the song "Yene Tek" (Alone Again) in 2007.
