Liam James Payne was born on August 29, 1993, in Wolverhampton, England. The youngest of three siblings, Liam was born prematurely and was later diagnosed with a partially functioning kidney. Despite his health challenges, he later revealed that his condition had improved significantly.

As a child, Liam faced bullying, which prompted him to take boxing lessons. He excelled in sports, joining the school's running and basketball teams. Outside of music, he expressed interest in becoming a firefighter.

In 2008, at the age of 14, Liam auditioned for the fifth season of "The X Factor." However, Simon Cowell deemed him too young and sent him away. Two years later, Liam returned for the seventh season and received a unanimous "yes" from the judges.

One Direction: The Rise to Fame
