Biography of Lilia Bernes-Bodrova
Lilia Bernes-Bodrova was born in 1929. She is mostly known for her association with her second husband, Bernes. Lilia was born and raised in Moscow, where she worked, studied, and made plans for her life. She loved the city and after several attempts to move to other cities for work, she decided that it would be easier for her to build her life in her hometown. Young Bodrova completed courses in typing and shorthand. After completing her courses, she worked as a secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture. Later, she worked at Gossnab during the Soviet period. After some time, Lilia was sent to work in Hungary. However, her homesickness made her leave the promising job in a foreign country and return to her native Moscow.
First Marriage
After some time, Bodrova met her first husband, Lucien. Their meeting was not a coincidence. Lucien was a photojournalist, and after seeing Lilia, he couldn't live peacefully and started looking for her. His search was successful after two years. However, he loved her deeply and was willing to do anything for her. After their marriage, they had a son. They were very happy and supported each other in everything. Lucien was not an ordinary person; he was a famous figure at that time and even had a book written about him.
Meeting Bernes
The family lived in luxury, and both Lilia and their son lacked nothing. Moreover, their son was sent to study at one of the most expensive schools at that time. There was only one school in Moscow with a French orientation, so most celebrities preferred to send their children there. This is where Lilia and Mark first met. They brought their children to the same educational institution and eventually became friends. They even sat at the same desk. After some time, Lilia attended a parent-teacher meeting and met Mark again, who attended the meeting not out of necessity but to see the woman he fell hopelessly in love with. Lilia was surprised by Mark's daughter's questions about her health from her father and was amazed to learn that Mark told his acquaintances that he had fallen deeply in love with Lilia Bodrova.
Mark actively pursued the woman he had strong feelings for. He courted her, called her, arranged dates, and took her on romantic walks. After a few months, Bodrova gave in and decided to leave her husband. Their mutual acquaintances were disappointed because everything was perfect - a good life, a loving husband, and a child. However, not everyone knew that Lucien was a notorious womanizer. Lilia tried to end the relationship several times but always returned, believing in her husband's love. Mark, determined to win the woman he had strong feelings for, eventually succeeded. Lucien peacefully let his wife go to his rival.
Second Marriage
Thanks to the care of her second husband, Lilia blossomed and started helping him organize his events. This brought them even closer. It is said that during their brief but happy nine-year marriage, the couple rarely fought, and most importantly, they did not separate for long periods of time. Mark Naumovich cherished Lilia and tried not to let her go anywhere alone. He was also jealous of her because she was incredibly beautiful, and many people wanted to be close to her.
However, Lilia Bodrova-Bernes' happiness was short-lived. After nine years of their happy marriage, Mark passed away from lung cancer in 1969.
Life After the Death of Her Beloved
After her husband's death, Lilia did not remarry, and there is no information about any new relationships. She raised her two children, giving them all her attention, and later, she herself fell seriously ill. Unfortunately, there was no one to take care of the sick woman, so strangers were hired to look after her, as her health was very fragile. Despite this, in memory of her second and beloved husband, she arranged for a memorial plaque for him and continued to live in his two-bedroom apartment.
For some reasons, Lilia does not have contact with her son and daughter. Her son even tried to sue for the apartment, but he was unsuccessful. It is known that Lilia has a granddaughter who doesn't remember her grandfather but enjoys listening to Mark Bernes' songs with her grandmother.
