Biography of Linden Ashby
Linden Ashby, an American television and film actor, was born on May 23, 1960. He was born in Atlantic Beach, Florida, to Eleanor, a social activist, and Garnett Ashby, a pharmaceutical manufacturer. Ashby completed his education at Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, before enrolling at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. However, after just one year of college, Linden dropped out and began studying acting at Fort Lewis College in New York.
Early Career
One of Linden's first roles was Lance Reventlow, the only son of Barbara Hutton, in the miniseries "Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story." The series was awarded a Golden Globe. In 1995, Ashby landed the role that he is most remembered for. He portrayed the character of Johnny Cage in the hit film "Mortal Kombat." However, he was unable to participate in the sequel, and his character was played by Chris Conrad. A year earlier, in 1994, Ashby appeared in the epic film "Wyatt Earp" alongside Kevin Costner. In 1998, Linden played the role of Dr. Jeff Chapman in the made-for-television film "The Lake," which also starred Yasmine Bleeth. He also appeared in the third installment of the "Resident Evil" saga, "Resident Evil: Extinction." This marked his second appearance on the big screen, twelve years after "Mortal Kombat." Throughout those twelve years, the actor only appeared in made-for-television films or direct-to-video releases.
Television Career
For one season in 1998, Linden portrayed Dr. Brett Cooper in the series "Melrose Place." From 2003 to 2004, he appeared in the series "The Young and the Restless" as Cameron Kirsten. In March 2008, the actor began appearing in "Days of our Lives," playing the role of Paul Hollingsworth. Apart from acting, Ashby is also the creator of the sitcom "T.J." for ABC, in which Jonathan Hellman and Tori Kittles starred. The series follows the story of two best friends, J and Terrance, who form a band and strive for fame and recognition. Ashby also wrote most of the songs and soundtrack for the series.
Personal Life
Linden Ashby is married to actress Susan Walters. The couple met during the filming of the series "Loving," where Walters worked regularly and Ashby made appearances in some episodes. They have two daughters together, Frances Grace (born in 1991) and Savannah Elizabeth (1992). In his youth, Ashby began studying martial arts. From the age of 21, he was dedicated to karate, taekwondo, and kung fu.
