Biography of Lisa Kleypas
Lisa Kleypas Ellis, also known as Lisa Kleypas, is a successful American author who writes in the genre of historical and contemporary romance. Her works have been published in 14 languages and have made it to the bestseller lists in many countries. Lisa Kleypas is a multiple finalist and winner of the renowned literary award 'RITA' and is one of the most active authors of St. Martins Press.

Early Life and Influences
Lisa Kleypas was born in 1964 in Texas. Following in her mother's footsteps, she developed a love for reading from an early age. The significance of books in their lives can be seen from the fact that in 1988, when their home was destroyed during a flood and all their belongings were lost, Lisa and her mother, among the essential items like clothes and toothbrushes, also bought "women's" romance novels to help alleviate the stress. It is not surprising that after college, Lisa decided to become a romance novelist. However, before making this decision, she had amateur literary experiences - since her enrollment at Wellesley College, where she studied political science, she wrote stories every summer purely for her own pleasure. In addition, she had a passion for music, poetry, and even composed songs. In 1985, she participated in a beauty pageant and became "Miss Massachusetts," despite her small stature and the fact that the sash with the state's full name was too long for her petite figure. She later competed in the "Miss America" pageant, where she performed her own song and received the award for the "Most Talented Non-Finalist."

Writing Career and Recognition
Lisa Kleypas' decision to dedicate herself to writing was supported by her parents, who agreed to financially support her for some time after college. However, their expenses turned out to be minimal - within a few months, with the help of literary agent Mel Bergerfield, Lisa sold her first manuscript to St. Martins Press, and in 1986, her debut novel "Where Passion Leads" was published. The following year, she published another novel, "Forever My Love," which, together with the previous book, formed the Berkeley duology, and she continued her successful literary career. In 1998, Lisa Kleypas received the Waldenbooks Award for the record-breaking sales of her novel "Stranger In My Arms." In the same year, she got married and received her most precious reward - a son, but she did not give up her literary activities. Lisa Kleypas became a finalist for the "RITA" award three times and won it in 2002 and 2004. 2002 was a particularly successful year for the author - she also received awards from Romantic Times magazine and was included in Publishers Weekly's "Star List." After that, her books repeatedly made it onto both these lists and Amazon's "Top Ten." Since 2006, Lisa Kleypas has focused more on contemporary-themed novels, releasing the Travis series, all of which became bestsellers, followed by the Friday Harbor series, with the fourth book titled "Crystal Cove" released in 2013. In 2012, the first book in this series, "Christmas at Friday Harbor," became the basis for the TV movie "Christmas with Holly." Out of approximately 50 works written by Lisa Kleypas, over 30 have been translated into Russian. These are predominantly historical romance novels that are very popular among fans of the genre. The highest-rated work by the author is the first and currently the only book from the Travis series published in Russian, titled "Sugar Daddy," which tells the story of the complicated relationship between a beautiful hairdresser, an elderly millionaire, and his son. The Wallflowers series, also known as the "Yellowfoils," has received slightly fewer positive reviews, with the second and third books, "Secrets of a Summer Night" and "It Happened One Autumn," garnering the most praise.
