Early Life and Education
Marc Albrecht is a German conductor born in 1964. He pursued his conducting studies from 1962 to 1967 under renowned maestros such as Bruno Maderna, Herbert von Karajan, István Kertész, and Hans Swarowsky.
Professional Career
Symphony Orchestra of Vienna RadioAlbrecht's first significant appointment came in 1982 when he took over as Music Director of the Symphony Orchestra of Vienna Radio. He held this position until 1986.
Württemberg State Opera
From 1997 to 2006, Albrecht led the Württemberg State Opera in Stuttgart as its Artistic Director.
Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin
In 2006, he became Chief Conductor of the Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin, a position he still holds today.
Musical Style and Recognition
Marc Albrecht is renowned for his expertise in German music of the 20th century. He has a particular affinity for avant-garde composers who were banned during the Nazi era, including Paul Hindemith, Ernst Krenek, Victor Ullmann, Erwin Schulhoff, and Hans Krasa.
