Biography of Louise Fribo
Louise Fribo is a Danish singer (soprano), actress, and dancer. She started her journey in the world of arts at a young age, learning to play the violin at 4 and studying classical dance at 7.

In 1986, at the age of 16, Fribo had her first acting experience in the Danish film "Barndommens gade," directed by Palme d'Or laureate Astrid Henning-Jensen. This sparked her passion for acting, leading her to enroll in the Bush Davies School of Theatre Arts from 1986 to 1989. During her time at the school, she landed her first stage role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical "Cats" at the Operettenhaus Hamburg in Germany.

In 1991, Fribo made her theatrical debut in Denmark, portraying Cosette in "Les Misérables." Her outstanding performance as Cosette, and later as Cunégonde in "Candide," earned her the prestigious Marguerite Viby Award. She quickly became one of Denmark's most popular actresses, especially among children, after her role as a fairy in the Danish TV series "TV X-mas Series."

Fribo's passion for opera led her to graduate from the Royal Danish Opera Academy as a coloratura soprano in 2003. She made her first appearance on the German stage in April 2004, playing Zerbinetta in "Ariadne auf Naxos" at the Theater Lübeck. She went on to perform in various European opera houses, including the Volksoper Wien, Staatsoper Hamburg, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and Opera National de Lyon. Notably, her portrayal of Olympia at the Royal Opera in Denmark earned her the Reumert Award.
One of her most successful roles was Ariel in Thomas Adès' opera "The Tempest," which she performed during a return visit to Lübeck. Fribo received rave reviews from European opera journals, with critics praising her ability to bring the character to life and infuse the opera with her own essence.
In 2011, Fribo made her debut in the United States, singing in Michael Sturminger's opera production "The Infernal Comedy" alongside John Malkovich.
Currently, Louise Fribo primarily focuses on opera productions. However, she also finds time for solo performances, having collaborated with major orchestras in Denmark and renowned ensembles in Europe and the United States.
