Early Career and Trnava Debut
Ľuboš Kamenár, a Slovak footballer, began his career as a goalkeeper for ŠK Spartak Trnava, his hometown club. He made his professional debut for Spartak on July 18, 2004, in a UEFA Intertoto Cup match against NK Slaven Belupo. Despite conceding no goals in the 0-0 draw, Kamenár only played one other match in the 2003/04 season.
Success with Artmedia Petržalka
In 2005, Kamenár joined FC Artmedia Bratislava and immediately contributed to their Slovak Super Liga title and Slovak Super Cup triumph. Over the next three seasons, he played in 44 league matches, helping Artmedia finish as runners-up twice. Additionally, he made appearances in the UEFA Europa League, including both legs of the Round of 32 in the 2005/06 season.
In the 2007/08 campaign, Kamenár regained his starting role and won his second league title with Artmedia. He also claimed his first Slovak Cup, playing 25 matches throughout the season. His impressive performances continued in the 2008/09 season, as he participated in 30 league games and reached the Slovak Cup final.
International Debut and Move to France
Kamenár represented Slovakia at various youth levels, making 15 appearances for the U19 team and 10 for the U21 team. He made his senior international debut on October 11, 2008, in a 3-1 World Cup qualifier against San Marino.
In July 2009, Kamenár signed a five-year contract with Nantes in the French Ligue 1. He made his debut in an away match against Caen, conceding one goal in their 1-0 defeat.
