Childhood and Early Career

Lukáš Csolley is a Slovak ice dancer who was born in Bratislava in June 1990. He began skating at a young age and partnered with Ivana Višňová in ice dance. Together, they won the Slovak junior national championships twice (2007 and 2008), and debuted at the Junior Grand Prix level and the World Junior Championships.

Partnership with Višňová

In 2009, Csolley and Višňová became Slovak national champions and debuted at senior tournaments. The following season, they qualified for the European Championships but failed to reach the minimum technical score for the World Championships. Their best result was a 5th place finish at the World Junior Championships in South Korea, after which Csolley decided to seek a new partner.

Partnership with Testa

In 2011, Italian ice dancer Federica Testa was searching for a new partner in Finland. She joined forces with Csolley, and they made their senior debut at the Bavarian Open in February. They quickly achieved the minimum technical score for the World Championships. Their official international debut came at the World Championships, but they failed to qualify for the Olympics in Sochi, finishing as the first alternates.

Breakthrough

After the Olympic season, Csolley and Testa made significant technical and artistic improvements. They secured a quota for two Slovak pairs at the World Championships, although they remained the only competitive pair in the country. They qualified for the free dance at the World Championships and made their Grand Prix debut. The following season, they earned qualifying points at the Grand Prix for the first time for a Slovak ice dance team. They won a bronze medal at the Winter Universiade in Spain, marking the first time Slovak ice dancers won a medal at the event. At the European Championships in Bratislava, they placed among the top eight pairs, and repeated the feat at the World Championships.

Partnership with Myslivečková

In 2016, Testa retired from competitive skating. Csolley continued his career with Czech ice dancer Lucia Myslivečková. They made their debut at the Nepela Memorial in Bratislava, finishing in eighth place and achieving the minimum technical score for the European Championships. They finished eighth again at the Nice Cup and won the Volvo Open Cup in Riga. At the Four Nations Championships in Katowice, they won the Slovak national title, making Csolley an eight-time Slovak champion.

Olympic Qualification

In September 2017, Csolley and Myslivečková began their Olympic season at the Lombardia Trophy, where they placed in the top ten. At the Nebelhorn Trophy qualifying tournament in Oberstdorf, they finished in the top six and secured an Olympic berth for Slovakia.

Recent Career

Csolley and Myslivečková continued to compete on the international circuit. They represented Slovakia at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, finishing in 15th place. They also competed at the 2019 and 2021 World Championships, placing 22nd and 17th respectively. In the 2021-2022 season, they won bronze at the 2022 Four Continents Championships, making it their first international medal.
