Lucas Lerager: A Dynamic Danish Midfielder
Early Career and Debut at AkademiskLucas Lerager began his professional football journey at Akademisk Boldklub in his native Denmark. In 2010, he made his first-team debut in the Danish First Division, showcasing his promising potential.
Move to Viborg and Breakthrough
In 2013, Lerager transferred to Viborg FF. He made his Danish Superliga debut against FC Nordsjælland in July 2013. Despite Viborg's relegation to the Danish First Division at the end of that season, Lerager remained with the club and played a key role in their promotion back to the Superliga in 2015.
Belgian Success at Zulte Waregem
In 2016, Lerager moved to Belgian club SV Zulte Waregem. He made his Jupiler Pro League debut in July 2016 and scored his first goal for the team against KV Mechelen in September. In his debut season, Lerager contributed to Zulte Waregem's victory in the Belgian Cup.
Transfer to Bordeaux and Ligue 1 Debut
In 2017, Lerager joined French side FC Girondins de Bordeaux on a four-year contract. He made his Ligue 1 debut in August 2017 against Angers SCO. During his time at Bordeaux, Lerager scored his first goal for the club against Olympique Lyonnais.
International Career
Lerager made his international debut for the Denmark national team in 2017, coming on as a substitute for Christian Eriksen in a friendly match against Germany. Since then, he has been a regular member of the Danish midfield.
