A Star is Born
Lucero Hogaza, lovingly known as the "Bride of America," was born in Mexico City on August 29, 1969. Her parents, both named after her grandparents, had no connection to the entertainment industry.
Early Beginnings
Lucero made her screen debut at the tender age of 10 in a musical television film. Three years later, she starred in the telenovela "Chispita" alongside renowned actor Enrique Lizalde. Although her acting career was promising, she opted to pursue singing instead.
A Trio of Triumphs
Lucero's breakthrough came when she was cast as triplets in the telenovela "Lazos de Amor." Playing Maria Paula, Maria Fernanda, and Maria Guadalupe, each with distinct personalities and physical attributes, required immense skill and versatility. The role earned her widespread acclaim as an actress.
A Serendipitous Romance
Lucero met singer Manuel Mijares in 1987 while working on a television film. Initially, their relationship was purely platonic. However, during the filming of "Lazos de Amor," their friendship blossomed into love. They married in a grand ceremony in January 1997, with the television network Televisa covering most of the expenses.
Personal Sanctuary
Together with Mijares, Lucero enjoys simple pleasures such as movies, sunbathing, and playing tennis. She maintains her enviable figure through daily aerobics and running. Her long, flowing hair, which she takes great pride in, is a signature part of her appearance.
Musical Marvel
Despite her success in acting, Lucero considers herself primarily a singer. Her musical influences include Sting, George Michael, and her husband, Mijares. She dreams of collaborating with the legendary Latin American singer Pedro Infante, though that aspiration remains unfulfilled.
