Early Life and Education
Lyudmila Postoyalko was born on October 10, 1941, in the village of Zhdany, Lokhvitsky district, Poltava region, Ukrainian SSR. She graduated from Kyiv Medical Institute in 1964.
Medical Career
From 1964 to 1973, Postoyalko worked as a district physician-therapist at the Brest Children's Polyclinic. From 1973 to 1992, she held various positions at the Brest Regional Children's Hospital, including physician-pediatrician, department head, and deputy head physician for medical care. In June 1992, she became the chief physician of the hospital.
Political and Public Service
In October 2001, Postoyalko was appointed First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus. On July 30, 2002, she became Minister of Health. During her tenure, she was awarded the title of "Honored Doctor of the Republic of Belarus" in 2003 and became Chairman of the Belarusian Red Cross Society in 2004.
Retirement and Legacy
Postoyalko was dismissed from her position as Minister of Health on December 27, 2005, due to being transferred to another position. From December 28, 2005, until her death, she served as Chairwoman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Demographic Security and Social Development. Postoyalko died of cancer and was buried at the Eastern Cemetery.

Lyudmila Postoyalko was married to Stepan Nikolaevich Postoyalko, who was born in 1933. They had two children: Irina Abelskaya (born 1965), a physician, and Andrey Stepanovich Postoyalko (born 1972), also a physician. Postoyalko had three grandchildren: Dmitry Evgenievich Abelsky, an ophthalmologist, Nikolai Lukashenko (born 2004), and an unnamed grandchild.
