Her strongest distance was the 800-meter race, considered a middle-distance event in the world of sports. As a member of the California Polytechnic State University team, she achieved good results and became a two-time champion in the Big West Conference on the 800-meter distance.
In 2008, she tried to qualify for the United States Olympic team but finished only in fifth place. Fortunately, she made it onto the American team for the 2009 World Athletics Championships, where she finished in fourth place.
