An Early StartAt the tender age of 6, Elizabeth Malea Jow embarked on her acting career in the beloved children's shows "Barney & Friends" and "Dellaventura."Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Malea moved to sunny California at the age of 9 with her mother, younger sister, and two younger brothers. Her father, Joe, was of Chinese-American descent, while her mother's heritage included Cherokee Native American roots.
Nickelodeon Stardom
Malea's breakthrough role came in the Nickelodeon series "Unfabulous," where she played Geena Fabiano, the stylish best friend of the titular character, Addie Singer.The show aired for three seasons, earning Malea several Young Artist Award nominations and establishing her as a teen icon.
