Ganiyev obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Sciences degree and became a professor. His research and contributions earned him the title of Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ASAN) and the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (NANA). From 1955 to 1970, Ganiyev served as the director of the Azerbaijani Scientific Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine. His guidance and expertise during this period significantly advanced the field.

Ganiyev authored over 200 scientific works, including the renowned textbooks "General Microbiology" (1933) and "Veterinary Microbiology" (1948). His mentorship extended to over 50 candidates and doctors of sciences, shaping generations of veterinary professionals.

During the Great Patriotic War, Ganiyev's contributions earned him the medals "For the Defense of the Caucasus" and "For Valiant Labor."

Ganiyev's exceptional achievements were recognized with the Honorary Certificate of the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijani Republic, two Orders of the Badge of Honor, and the Order of the Red Banner of Labour.
