Professor of Forensic Medicine at Charles University, Prague

Professor František Hájek was a renowned professor of forensic medicine at Charles University in Prague.

Involvement in the Katyn Commission

During World War II, Hájek participated in the international medical commission (Die internationale Aerztekommission) that investigated the Katyn massacre.

Arrest and Release

After the war, Hájek was arrested on suspicion of collaborating with Nazi occupiers but was soon released.

"The Katyn Evidence"

On July 9, 1945, Hájek delivered a lecture titled "The Katyn Evidence" at a meeting of the Society of Czech Physicians in Prague. The lecture was later published as a brochure in April 1946.

Testimony on Controversial Deaths

Hájek was known for his role in certifying the suicide of Czech Foreign Minister Jan Masaryk and the natural death of Czechoslovak legionnaire and military figure Lieutenant General Karel Lukas. However, there are ongoing speculations that both individuals were murdered.
