Marat Bisengaliev: A Renowned Violinist and Maestro
Marat Bisengaliev, a celebrated violinist and conductor, was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in 1962. Despite initial setbacks in his musical endeavors, he persevered and achieved remarkable success in the international classical music scene.
Education and Early Career
Bisengaliev began his musical journey at the age of 8 when he enrolled in the Violin Department of the Republican Secondary Special Music School named after K. Baiseitova. Continuing his studies at the Almaty State Conservatory named after K. Kurmangazy, he later pursued his education at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, where he studied under renowned professors Boris Belenkiy and Valery Klimov.
During his years in Moscow, Bisengaliev distinguished himself with his exceptional talent. In 1986, he entered the postgraduate program at the Moscow Conservatory, where he further honed his skills and completed his studies with a captivating solo concert at the Bolshoi Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
International Recognition
Bisengaliev's brilliance as a violinist was recognized worldwide. In 1988, he emerged victorious at the International Bach Competition in Leipzig, Germany. The following year, he triumphed at the International Nicanor Zabaleta Competition in Spain, receiving both first place and a special prize for his virtuosic interpretation.
Founding of "Altyn-Alma" Chamber Orchestra
In 1989, Bisengaliev returned to his hometown of Almaty and founded the "Altyn-Alma" Chamber Orchestra. This ensemble quickly gained prominence for its exceptional performances and commitment to promoting classical music in Kazakhstan.
Conductor and Director
Bisengaliev's expertise extended beyond violin playing. In various capacities, he served as the Artistic Director of the Kazakh State Academic Symphony Orchestra and the principal conductor of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. He also held the esteemed position of Professor at the Birmingham Conservatory in the United Kingdom and was one of the directors of the Alliance of Asia-Pacific Regional Orchestras (AAPRO).
