About the Composer

French composer and musical educator, graduated from the Paris Conservatory, studying composition with Paul Dukas and conducting with Philippe Gaubert.

Known for his numerous chamber compositions, particularly for various wind instruments accompanied by piano.

Leadership Roles

From 1946 to 1969, served as Director of the Conservatoire de Nancy and concurrently led the Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy.

Associations and Advocacy

Co-founded the Association Lorraine de Musique de Chambre (Lorraine Association for Chamber Music) in 1947 and became its first Vice-President. Presided over the French Association of Directors of National and Municipal Conservatories from 1948 to 1958.

Educational Contributions

Authored several pedagogical works, including "Cours complet d'éducation musicale" (Complete Course in Musical Education) published in 1952.
