Marcelo Antony, a Brazilian actor, gained wide popularity under the pseudonym "Marcelo Antony" due to the unfavorable sound of his birth name, Marcelu Couto de Farias. He is known in Russia for his appearances in various television series of the "Globo" television company.
Early Life
Marcelo was born on January 28, 1965, in Rio de Janeiro, into a family of Franco-Italian descent. His father was a poor government employee, and his mother was a homemaker raising three children. Marcelo, being the eldest son, became independent at an early age. He worked as a waiter, a photographer's assistant, a store salesperson, and a tour guide while pursuing his passion for theater. Marcelo made numerous unsuccessful attempts to audition for television series roles. He studied at the Actors Workshop at Globo television company.
Professional Career
It was not until Marcelo turned thirty that he finally landed his first role in the series "Fatal Inheritance". Simultaneously, he started appearing in the film "Gingerbread House" and commercials. Personal Life
Marcelo was married to actress Monica Torres until 2010, and together they adopted two children, Francisco and Stefania. In early June 2011, Marcelo married Carolina Hollinger Villar, whom he met at a sports club in October 2010. On September 27, 2011, Marcelo and Carolina welcomed their son, Lorenzo, into the world.
