Early Career

Marcus Vinícius Dias(born February 20, 1984) is a Brazilian footballer who currently plays as a central defender for FC Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland.

Marcus began his football career with Associação Atlética Portuguesa in 1994. He stayed there for four years before joining the youth team of Vasco da Gama in 1998. Subsequently, he had stints with the youth teams of EC Vitória (2002-2003) and Cascavel CR (2004).

Move to Europe

In late 2004, Marcus made a significant move to Europe when he signed a contract with Italian giants AC Milan. He initially played for the club's Primavera (youth) team.

Loan Spells and Serie B

In 2007, Marcus was loaned out to Monza in Serie C1, where he made 13 appearances and scored one goal. The following year, he moved to Serie B club Livorno Calcio, who acquired 50% of his playing rights. In January 2009, Marcus was sent on loan to FC Crotonein Serie B.

Return to Livorno and Serie A Debut

In June 2009, AC Milan reacquired Marcus from Livorno in exchange for Romano Perticone. However, they allowed him to stay on loan at Livorno for a fee of €150,000. On August 23, 2009, Marcus made his Serie A debut for Livorno in a goalless draw against Cagliari.

Dedication and Ambition

Regarding his aspirations, Marcus has stated: "I came to Europe to play for AC Milan, and I want to play for that team. Right now, I cannot afford to think about whether I will stay at Livorno or return to AC Milan because our team's objective is to remain in Serie A, and all my thoughts are focused on that."
