Early Career
Dennis Reul was born in Germany and raised in the town of Riessersee, where he began his hockey career with the local club. Reul honed his skills in the second-tier Deutsche Eishockey Liga 2 (DEL2) before making his professional debut in 2002 with Kölner Haie.
DEL Career
In the 2002/03 season, Reul made his DEL debut with Haie and also played a few games for Duisburger Füchse in DEL2. After spending another season in Cologne, he joined Adler Mannheim in 2004. From 2004 to 2008, he alternated between Mannheim and Heilbronner Falken in lower-tier leagues.
Captaincy and Championships
Reul became captain of Adler Mannheim in 2010 and led the team to DEL championships in 2007 and 2015. By the 2016/17 season, he had played 603 regular-season games and 97 playoff games for Mannheim.
International Career
Reul debuted for the German national junior team at the 2002 World Junior Championships. From 2003 to 2005, he represented the German youth team and made his senior team debut at the 2011 World Championships.
