Biography of Margaretha Sigfridsson
Margaretha Sigfridsson is a Swedish curler born in Sundsvall. She currently holds the position of skip in the Swedish national team. In 1997, Sigfridsson served as skip for the Swedish junior team at the World Junior Curling Championship. The team achieved great success and won the silver medal, with Scotland's Julia Ewart as their only worthy opponent.

Sigfridsson continued her curling career and represented Sweden as skip at the Women's Ford World Curling Championship in 2002. Once again, the team won the silver medal, losing to Scotland's Jackie Lockhart with a close score of 6-5. In 2008, Sigfridsson returned to the World Championship as the lead of the Swedish team, but the team fell short of the gold medal.

In the following season, Sigfridsson joined forces with Anette Norberg's team and won silver at the Mount Titlis Women's Curling Championship. However, they were unable to secure the gold medal, as they were defeated by China's Wang Bingyu. Finally, in a comeback with Stina Viktorsson's team, Sigfridsson achieved her long-awaited victory by winning gold at the European Curling Championship.

In 2011, Sigfridsson decided to form her own team and quickly rose to the top of the Swedish rankings. Her team represented Sweden at the European Curling Championship, but once again settled for second place, losing to Scotland's Eve Muirhead. They also won silver at the Ford World Curling Championship, with Switzerland's Mirjam Ott claiming the gold medal.
In 2012, Sigfridsson and her team competed at the European Curling Championship and finished in third place, behind Russia and Scotland. Despite this setback, Sigfridsson was chosen to represent Sweden at the World Curling Championship, where they won silver once again, falling to Scotland's Muirhead. Sigfridsson also faced Muirhead in the 2013 Players' Championship final, resulting in another defeat for the Swedish team.
Notably, the 2013 Players' Championship marked Sigfridsson's first appearance in a Grand Slam tournament playoff. Later that year, Sigfridsson and her team brought home another gold medal for Sweden at the European Curling Championship.
