Biography of Ben Hebert
Ben Hebert is a Canadian curler, best known as a member of Kevin Martin's team that won gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Currently, he plays as the lead in Martin's team.

Early Life and Career
Hebert was born in Regina, Saskatchewan. From 2004 to 2006, he played as a lead for Pat Simmons. During this time, he represented Saskatchewan at the Brier Championship in both 2005 and 2006. He was also the fifth member of the team led by skip Steven Laycock, which won the Canadian Junior Curling Championship and the World Junior Curling Championship in 2003.

Hebert later moved to Alberta, where he quickly joined John Morris's team. He then transitioned to Kevin Martin's team. With Martin, Hebert won the Canada Cup in 2007 and finished fourth at the Brier Championship in 2008. In 2008, he became a member of the Canadian team that won the Men's World Curling Championship.
Controversy and Olympic Success
In 2009, Hebert returned as a lead for the Alberta team. The team won the Brier Championship with a perfect record of 13-0, setting a new record for consecutive victories. However, controversy arose during the final round of Canadian qualifiers for the 2009 Olympics. In a match against Glenn Howard's team, Richard Hart, the third player on Howard's team, accused Hebert of using a prohibited sweeping motion in the ninth end. Video replays confirmed that Hebert had lifted the broom vertically instead of moving it to the side, which could potentially impact the shot. It remained unclear whether this action was intentional or not.
The Martin team went on to win the final match of the qualifiers against Howard, securing their spot at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. They performed exceptionally well, defeating Thomas Ulsrud's Norwegian team in the final match to win the gold medal.
Life Beyond Curling
In addition to his sporting career, Hebert also works as a sales and marketing representative for the company 'Fugro SESL Geomatics'.
