Margarita Mikhailovna Gnorinskaya, also known as Margarita or Queen Margo, is a singer who was born in 1939. Despite facing many challenges in her life, Margarita has managed to find solace and happiness through her passion for music.
Difficult Beginnings
Born into a pre-war era, Margarita's family faced financial hardships. Her father, an invalid who lost his leg at a young age, worked in a collective, collecting switches and painting buttons. Her mother worked as a cashier in a bakery. They lived in a small wooden house on Bauman Street, barely making ends meet. In a twelve-square-meter room, Margarita, her parents, her brother, his wife, and their child lived together.
At the age of five, Margarita contracted poliomyelitis, which resulted in a lifelong limp. Despite her disability, Margarita managed to support her family by working in the telecommunications department, even with her third-degree disability.
Dreams and Setbacks
Margarita had dreams of becoming a florist and even enrolled in a horticultural school. However, her plans changed when she fell in love and became pregnant. Unfortunately, her partner disappeared upon learning about her pregnancy. Margarita gave birth to a son, Vitaly, who became her greatest joy.
However, tragedy struck again when Margarita slipped and fell on her injured leg at work. This accident left her reliant on a cane to walk. At the age of 52, she was finally granted a well-deserved retirement. Despite these setbacks, Margarita never complained or let her circumstances define her.

It was during a cruise on the "Dzerzhinsky" ship that Margarita's life took a transformative turn. Lost in her thoughts, Margarita was invited to sing on an impromptu stage. As she sang the romantic song "Do Not Awaken Memories," her hidden talent emerged. The applause and requests for more performances made her realize that singing was what she had been missing in her life. It felt as if she had been asleep for a long time and had finally woken up.

With her newfound passion for singing, Margarita, now known as Margot or Queen Margo, started performing in parks and became a beloved figure in the local music scene. Her performances attracted a devoted following, and she soon found herself performing for various audiences, including disabled individuals, pensioners, and patients in sanatoriums.
Margarita's talent even led her to perform at the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, where she had the opportunity to share the stage with the renowned singer Toto Cutugno.
