Biography of Margarita Levieva
Margarita Vladimirovna Levieva was born on February 9, 1980, in Leningrad, RSFSR, USSR. At the age of three, she started practicing artistic gymnastics. In 1991, Margarita, her mother, and twin brother Mikhail immigrated to the United States as Jewish refugees. They settled in the Sheepshead Bay area of Brooklyn, New York City, which is the most populated borough of the city.
In the States, Levieva continued her gymnastics training and achieved success at the regional level. However, she was not allowed to compete in the national championship due to not having American citizenship. Levieva attended Secaucus High School in New Jersey and later studied at the economics faculty of New York University. Although she earned a diploma, she did not pursue a career in economics as her interest in acting grew during her college years.
Levieva's passion for acting led her to the William Esper Studio, where she learned the Sanford Meisner technique. In 2004, she made her debut in the short film "Billy's Choice". She added three projects to her resume in 2005: the film "English" and the TV series "New York-70" and "Law & Order: Jury". The episode in "Law & Order: Jury" marked a significant milestone in Levieva's career. She gained public recognition, and in 2005, she was featured in the New York Magazine's list of the "50 Most Beautiful People of New York".
Throughout her career, Levieva has appeared in various TV series and films. Some notable works include "The Prince", "What's Not to Love?", "Disappeared", "David's Apartment", "The Invisible", "Noise", and "The Stand Up". In 2017, Levieva joined the cast of the TV series "The Deuce", where she worked alongside James Franco, who also directed some episodes of the show. Levieva's talent and recognition in the industry led her to be cast in James Franco's upcoming independent film "Future World", alongside stars like Milla Jovovich, Suki Waterhouse, Lucy Liu, and Snoop Dogg.
Aside from her acting career, Levieva has been in a relationship with actor Sebastian Stan. Although they initially claimed to be just friends, they confirmed their romantic involvement in 2014. Levieva and Stan have become one of the much-talked-about couples in Hollywood.
As of September 2017, Levieva's TV series "The Deuce" was renewed for a second season, in which her character, Abby Parker, will continue to be a central figure in the story. Levieva's talent, beauty, and success in the industry have established her as a sought-after actress in Hollywood.
