However, during her last year of college, Maria enrolled in an acting class just for fun and discovered her love for performing.

Early Acting Career
Soon after discovering her passion for acting, Maria Bello began performing in small Off-Broadway productions. In 1992, she made her film debut in "Maintenance." Two years later, in 1994, Bello was cast as Mrs. Smith in the remake of the popular spy series "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." Unfortunately, the show was canceled after only eight weeks on air.

However, Maria's talent was recognized, and she was invited to guest star on the television series "ER." Her performance impressed the producers so much that Bello was offered a regular role as Dr. Anna Del Amico.
