Early Life and Education

María Eugenia Ríos was born in Mexico City on August 4, 1935, to Roberto Ríos. Despite her father's strict opposition to her pursuit of acting, her mother's persuasion convinced him to consent, on the condition that she complete her studies successfully. With determination, María Eugenia excelled in school and graduated as a bilingual secretary, also attending City College.

Acting Career

Fulfilling her father's condition, María Eugenia joined the Academy of Andrés Soler and ANDA in 1954, graduating in 1956. She made her acting debut that same year and went on to star in over 30 films and television series. Her portrayal of Seki Sano's disciple in many productions earned her wide recognition.

Personal Life

In 1958, María Eugenia met actor Óscar Morelli during a theatrical tour. The two fell in love and married on June 2 of the same year. They had four children: Andrés, Óscar, Gustavo, and María Eugenia Bonfiglio. Andrés and Óscar followed in their parents' footsteps, pursuing careers in acting. María Eugenia and Óscar spent 47 years together before his passing.

Later Life and Legacy

After Óscar's death, María Eugenia continued to live life with joy and enthusiasm. She passed away on August 1, 2024, in Mexico City at the age of 88. Her contributions to Mexican cinema and her indomitable spirit left a lasting legacy.
