Biography of Magda Guzman

Magda Guzman was a Mexican actress known for her contributions to the film and television industry. Born in Mexico, Guzman began her acting career at the young age of ten when she appeared in the film "Noche de recien casados". She gained further recognition in 1948 when she starred alongside Sylvia Derbes in the film "Tarzan y sirenitas", where Johnny Weissmuller played the lead role.

Family and Personal Life

Magda Guzman came from a family with artistic talents. Her brother, Roberto "El Flaco" Guzman, was also an actor. Guzman was married twice in her lifetime. Her first husband was theater director Julian Dupre, but their marriage ended in divorce. In 1970, she married actor Federico Falcon, whose real surname was del Castillo. Falcon was the brother of renowned Mexican actor Eric del Castillo. Unfortunately, Falcon passed away in 1980.

Guzman had children from both of her marriages. From her first marriage, she had a daughter named Karina Dupre, who followed in her mother's footsteps and became an actress and director. From her second marriage, she had three children: two sons named Gerardo and Carlos, and a daughter named Mirta. Guzman also had several grandchildren, including actress Magda Karina.

Awards and Recognition

Throughout her career, Magda Guzman received several nominations and awards for her outstanding performances. In 1955, she was nominated for the Silver Ariel Award for her role in the film "La duda" (1954). The following year, she received another Silver Ariel nomination for her role in the film "La vida no vale nada" (1955).

In 1988, Guzman won the TVyNovelas Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as "Tomasa" in the series "Dika Rosa". She received further recognition in 1997 when she won the TVyNovelas Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the series "Te sigo amanda".
