Early Life and Education

Maria Elena Boschi was born in Rome in 1980 to a Calabrian family. Her great-grandfather, Titta Madia, was a lawyer, journalist, and parliament member. She attended the French Lycée Chateaubriand in Rome and graduated from the Lucca Institute for Advanced Studies in Political Science.

Political Career

Boschi's political journey began in 2008 when she was selected as a candidate for the Chamber of Deputies by the Democratic Party under the leadership of Walter Veltroni. She was elected to parliament on April 29, 2008, and re-elected in 2013.

Minister of Public Administration

On February 22, 2014, Boschi was appointed Minister of Public Administration in Matteo Renzi's government. She held this position until December 12, 2016.

Minister for Simplification and Public Administration

Following the resignation of Renzi, Boschi was appointed Minister for Simplification and Public Administration in Paolo Gentiloni's government. She served in this role until 2018.

Personal Life

In June 2013, Boschi married Mario Gianani, a television and film producer. She became a mother in March 2014.
