Early Career

Mariano Iacobellis, known as Mariano ISCO, is an Argentine footballer who plays as a midfielder. Born with Italian citizenship, ISCO began his career at San Telmo, making his debut in 2001 against Deportivo Morón. In three years with the club, he appeared in 93 matches, scoring 4 goals.

Loan Spells

In 2004, ISCO was loaned to Almagro in the Argentine Primera División. However, he only featured in 6 games before the club was relegated. He then played for Tigre, making 27 appearances.

Move to Italy

In August 2006, ISCO transferred to Italian club Catania for a fee of $90,000. He debuted in a Serie A match against Parma, providing an assist in a 2-0 victory. In his first season, he played 13 games.

Regular Starter at Catania

Over the next three seasons, ISCO established himself as a regular starter for Catania. On December 20, 2009, he scored his first goal for the club, netting against Juventus to give Catania their first victory in Turin since 1963.
