Early Life and Training
Marie-Agnès Gillot was born in 1975 and began her dance training at the Paris Opera Ballet School in 1985. Despite her young age, she swiftly advanced, skipping grades and completing the curriculum.
Rise to Prominence
In 1990, at the age of 15, Gillot joined the Paris Opera Ballet's corps de ballet. Two years later, she was promoted to "coryphée" and became a finalist in the XV International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria.
Soaring Career
Gillot became a soloist with the Paris Opera Ballet in 1994, showcasing her talent in contemporary and traditional repertoire. She performed in notable works by renowned choreographers such as Daniel Larrieu, Mats Ek, Angelin Preljocaj, John Neumeier, Carolyn Carlson, Dominique Bagouet, and Vaclav Nijinsky.
Prix and Accolades
Gillot's exceptional artistry earned her several prestigious accolades. In 1997, she received the Prix du Cercle Carpeaux and the Audience Prize from the AROP (Association of Friends of the Paris Opera). In 1998, she was promoted to "première danseuse."
Elevation to Etoile
