Maria Evangelina Aвгеропулос, a Greek-Canadian actress, was born in the small city of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, nestled on the northern shores of Lake Superior. She completed her Television Broadcasting diploma from Confederation College in Ontario and further honed her skills through extensive training at various theatre studios across Canada.

Maria's television debut came in commercials for Toyota Scion and Credit Unions of British Columbia. In 2009, she landed episodic roles in popular series such as "Supernatural," "Harper's Island," and "Warehouse 13." She also made her film debut that year with "I Love You, Beth Cooper" and "Sorority Wars."

In 2013, Maria gained recognition for her portrayal in the television series "Cult." Her breakthrough role came in 2014 with the post-apocalyptic drama "The 100," where she has played Octavia Blake since its inception.
