Biography of Marina Berti

Marina Berti was an Italian actress who had a prolific career in both films and television. Born in 1924, she made her film debut in 1941 in the movie "The Fugitive," alongside Anna Magnani. Throughout her acting career, Berti appeared in around a hundred films and TV series, including notable works such as "Where Are You Going?" (1951), "Ben-Hur" (1959), "Madame Sans-Gêne" (1962), and "Cleopatra" (1963). She worked with renowned directors such as Pietro Germi, William Wyler, Joseph Mankiewicz, Franco Zeffirelli, Alberto Lattuada, Carlo Lizzani, and many others.

Marriage and Family

In 1944, Berti married Italian actor Claudio Gora, with whom she remained until his death in 1998. The couple had two daughters, Andrea Giordana and Marina Giordana, both of whom also became actresses.

Later Career

Berti continued to act well into her later years. Her last film appearance was in 2002, in the movie "Amen" directed by Costa-Gavras, which was based on Rolf Hochhuth's play.
