Marina found a job at a local hospital and was known for her diligence and hard work, earning a reputation as a responsible and kind young woman.
In early 1961, Marina met her future husband, Lee Harvey Oswald, at a youth disco. After a few months of knowing each other, the couple decided to get married. Their wedding took place on April 30, 1962. Marina was not afraid to marry an American during such a challenging time and took her husband's last name. Soon after, they welcomed their first child, a daughter, in February 1962. Lee obtained permission to return to the United States, and the happy family moved there.
