Marisa Berenson is an American actress and fashion model. She became a well-known model in the early 1960s. In July 1970, she appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine, and on December 15, 1975, she graced the cover of Time magazine. By that time, she was one of the highest-paid models in the world and was often referred to as the "Queen of the Scene" for her frequent appearances at nightclubs and other public events.
Family Background
Marisa Berenson is the eldest daughter of Robert Berenson, an American diplomat, and Countess Maria Luisa Yvonne Radha de Wendt de Kerlor, a renowned socialite known in Italy, Switzerland, France, and Egypt. Her maternal grandmother is the famous fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli, and her maternal grandfather is Count Wilhelm de Wendt de Kerlor, a theosophist and medium. Marisa's younger sister, Berry Berenson, is also an actress, model, and photographer. Marisa is also related to several notable ancestors, including Giovanni Schiaparelli, who once "discovered" the legendary "canals of Mars," the art expert Bernard Berenson, and his sister Senda Berenson, an athlete and educator who was one of the first two women inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Marisa Berenson also had a successful acting career. She portrayed Gustav von Aschenbach's wife in the 1971 film "Death in Venice" and Natalia Landauer, a Jewish heiress, in the 1972 film "Cabaret." For her role in "Cabaret," Marisa received two Golden Globe nominations, a BAFTA nomination, and a National Board of Review Award. In 1975, she played the role of Lady Lyndon, a tragic beauty, in Stanley Kubrick's film "Barry Lyndon." Although this role is her most famous, it received mixed reviews from critics. Despite this, Marisa's acting career continued, although she mostly appeared in lesser-known films.
Personal Life
Marisa Berenson has been married twice. Her first husband was James Randall, a prominent rivet manufacturer, and they have a daughter named Starlite Melody Randall. In 1982, Marisa married lawyer Aaron Richard Golub. On September 11, 2001, Marisa's sister, Berry, tragically died in one of the airplanes that crashed into the World Trade Center.
